Final presentation What is depression?

Good morning everyone.
Some people may think it's not a good morning.
Some people may feel depressed because the exam is coming soon.
Or, I think that anyone who has lived for nearly 20 years has experienced at least one sinking feeling.
If it lasts only for a few days, you are maybe healthy, but if it lasts more than two weeks, you may have a mental illness.
The theme of my presentation this time is depression.
Depression may not be familiar to college students, however,
Statistics show that 1 in 15 people will suffer from it in their lifetime.
Don't you think it's surprising?
So I think it's not a loss and it makes sense for us to think about depression.

What is depression? That's a difficult question. It is difficult to define in modern medicine. Still, the symptoms are known. Symptoms affect the body as well as the heart because the body and mind are related. For example:
mental symptoms include a depressed mood and decreased interest in things.

physical symptoms include sleep disturbances, loss of appetite, and fatigue and so on.
Therefore, treatment of depression requires treatment of not only mental symptoms but also physical symptoms.

So what causes depression?
One of the major causes is stress. A lot of tasks that we university students face can also be a cause.
In addition, there is a personality that is easy to get depressed.

That is, Serious, responsible, and perfectionist personality tends to cause depression.
Most of all, according to modern psychiatry, the imbalance between the chemicals that control emotions in the brain, such as serotonin, noradrenaline, and dopamine, is thought to be a major factor. In other words, depression is a disease that cannot be cured without treatment.
And like other physical diseases, depression is understood to be caused by physical abnormalities.
This is something that cannot be emphasized enough.

What are the treatments for depression?
Treatment consists mainly of rest, psychotherapy, and drug therapy.
As mentioned above, depression is in a sense,  illness caused by chemical substances so rest is neither a bad thing nor a reprimand. In fact, people who are prone to depression often do not get enough rest. In drug therapy, rational drugs are used to eliminate the underlying imbalance.

In convergence,
In my presentation, I explained the symptoms, causes, and treatment of depression.
As I said before, 1 in 15 people will suffer from the disease in their lifetime, so it will certainly be helpful to have the right knowledge. Also, please consider not only your body but also your mental health occasionally.

I hope that you can lead a healthy university life both mentally and physically.

Thank you for listening.

Mid term presentation "Food pioneer"

Good morning everyone.

In this presentation, I will introduce a person whom I respect.

All of a sudden,

Is there anyone who doesn't recognize this image? Is there anyone who has never eaten this food?

I'm sure he isn't. It looks really delicious. I want to eat it. I think everyone is the same. Even after breakfast.

I'm going to introduce Momofuku Ando, the inventor of this Cup Noodle.

This time I would like to introduce his life, achievements, and reasons for respecting him.

Momofuku was born in 1990. He was born into a commercial family and had a strong spirit of independence and challenge from an early age. A turning point came in 1945, around the end of the war. Many people suffered from food shortages after the war ended. There were a lot of people in those days along with street stall ramen.

Momofuku Ando realized the importance of food to society and decided to make instant noodles. Despite some twists and turns, he succeeded in making chicken ramen in 1958 and cup noodles in 1971. His passion for food never faded in his later years, and at the age of 91, he launched a project to turn cup noodles into space food and took charge of it himself.

In fact, the development was completed in 2005 and he was sent to space aboard a space shuttle.

He passed away at the age of 96, bringing 2 mottos of "Continuing to bring about innovation" and "to be creative." to Nissin, the company he founded.

I think Momofuku has two major achievements.

First, he made instant cup noodles. It has revolutionized the Japanese food culture since the end of the war and has supported our food even today.

Right?

Next, they developed the Japanese culture of instant noodles and spread it all over the world.

It is not too much to say that Cup Noodle is the soul food not only in Japan but all over the world. This is something Japanese can be proud of.

So, what do I admire about him?

First, he was doing business with the idea of saving people's trouble.

It is his philosophy that he decided to make cup noodles out of the difficulties of people after the war.

Second: It's amazing he lived to be 96, but he took on new challenges after he turned 90. I respect that aggressiveness.

In inclusion

I introduced momohaku's life, achievement, and the reason I advise.

Finally, I ’ m going to finish with quotation from him

"It's never too late in life."

Thank you for listening.

Unit 2 A great vacation idea

Good morning, everyone.

Have you ever seen truly beautiful landscapes? Are you tired of the humid heat of Aichi?

Do you want to spend more comfortable place for travel?

If the answer is yes, I have the perfect the perfect vacation for you because Okinawa is known for its beautiful landscapes and, Okinawa is not so hot.

I will give you some information about Okinawa, and its highlights and activities you can.

OK, I’ll describe about Okinawa.

Okinawa is land of Japan, and we can visit there by plane.

Okinawa is southern of Japan ,however, as I stated earlier, it is not so hot because the humidity is low in Okinawa.

In addition, we don’t have to get passport to ravel Okinawa. That is big point because I don’t have a passport.

Now let me introduce Okinawa’s highlights.

First of all I want you to go shuri-jio a historical and traditional park. You will be overwhelmed by its beauty. Or if you have never been to Okinawa, its unoriginal, but I recommend Churaumi aquarium. In this aquarium, we can see a lot of sea animals. Of course, it is famous for Whale shark.

How about activities?

It is pleasant to swim in the sea of Okinawa. There are many spots we can swim near hotels. In addition, I recommend the activity of coloring Siesar ( Okinawan traditional guardian lions )

To conclude, I hope the information I’ve introduced you about Okinawa, its highlights ,and activities.

Finally, I’m going to finish with a famous saying

All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware

Thank you for listening.

Unit1 The person I admire

Good morning everyone

We learned many people’s lives since we were born

How many great people we know and their lives?

Today I want to talk about a person I admire

His  name is Alan Turning, a scientist

I’m going to talk about his life, achievement , and then I’ll tell you why I admire him.

He was born in UK in 1912

He had gift for mathematics and science and in 1931 entered University and majored in mathematics

At that time German cryptography called “enigma” had an overwhelming influence on UK during WW2, therefore he was ordered to decrypt that machine.

In the courses of his work he developed the theory of modern computers, and finally, when 1944 he broke enigma

He has two great achievements

First he pioneered computer and computer science

Second he broke enigma in WW2

I have two reasons for the question why I admire him

First Thanks to his work,he made WW2 shorter

Breaking enigma ended brutal war and as a result, helped many people

Second he contributed to computer science, and even now he makes our lives better

In conclusion, I talked his life, achievements, and a reason I admire

We can know science have potential to make world happier by learning his life, therefore I want learn much better

Thank you for listening
